Donating to the Dominica Relief Fund
(Information from the  Dominica High Commission, London)

Dear Nationals,

We are saddened by the devastation which Dominica suffered as a result of the passage of Tropical Storm Erika.  It is especially harrowing that so many persons have lost their lives in this natural disaster.

The relief effort is continuing, and it will take a great amount of resources in the rehabilitation of the country.  The High Commission is heartened by the response from the Dominica Nationals in the United Kingdom, and we are forwarding the information below for your attention.

Please note that persons wishing to make a contribution to the official relief effort can deliver items to the Dominica High Commission (1 Collingham Gardens, Earls Court, South Kensington, London SW5 OHW), between 10am and 5pm weekdays.  Relief items donated through this channel will be sent to the addressee above and will be distributed by the authorities in Dominica. It is not possible to include items or packages in this shipment to private individuals.  (Kindly see the priority needs list at: http://www.opm.gov.dm/?p=1091), for guidance in making your donations.  Geest Line Ltd, JP (Ram) Shipping and Gee Shipping are assisting in this regard.  Please see the contact details for the two shippers who have contacted the High Commission:

The Government has waived the import charges on all relief aid entering Dominica.  This applies to items addressed to the official government consignee, private individuals, or to specific groups such as Village Councils.

4.       Please note that the Douglas-Charles airports and Canefield airports were affected by the storm, and currently there are no commercial flights to and from Douglas-Charles airport.  Persons who were scheduled to travel to and from Dominica are advised  to contact their airline or travel agent.  LIAT has made special arrangements for regional flights and useful contacts are:
