Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) in collaboration with the Caribbean and Tourism Organization (CTO) will host professional development sessions targeting certified taxi service providers commencing on October 11, 2020.
The sessions are aimed at improving skills that will assist in assuring a high quality of service delivery in the transportation sector.
It will also provide an opportunity for the enhancement of skills, knowledge, and attitude on how to maintain high standards of sanitation and personal hygiene to minimize the transmission of the Novel Coronavirus (nCoV).
DDA’s recently launched Safe in Nature program will provide a managed experience to include transportation services to visitors coming from the high-risk classification of countries.
As such, taxi service providers who successfully complete the training will be qualified to offer transportation services under the said program.
Approximately 450 taxi service providers are expected to participate in the training sessions.
CTO Training Consultant, Joan Leacock will facilitate the sessions. Ms. Leacock is a highly motivated and experienced trainer and educator.
Ms. Leacock possesses over thirty years of experience in various aspects of the travel, tourism, and hospitality industry, including educational and vocational experience in the areas of Customer Service and Quality Assurance.
DDA will continue its commitment to the development of the tourism human resource as excellent customer service impacts positively on guests’ experiences in this new environment.
